Some posts ago I was listing for your some rules to challenge low temperatures, following one of the latest trends (crazy trend) to go outdoors in bare legs when the thermometer hardly gets up to 10 degrees Celsius. However, I’ve realized that not all of you are so crazy as me and that your sanity keeps you on cozy pants, double layer of socks and the most professional down coat you’ve found. OK. But if everyone stays in that mood this fashion world becomes boring and we people who write about it wouldn’t have any issue to talk about, to write about or anything. Therefore, how to get ready for temperatures around zero and keep the fashionista touch? Here you have some rules.
1. Down coats are not beautiful at all for your daily life. I always have the feeling that I’m wrapped in a sleeping bag. Moncler does it best, but I only see inside of those luxury ones up in the Swiss Alpes.
2. Dress in a mannish coat long enough to cover your legs, like this Zara Studio Collection one. Yes, those so classic woven coats that are a must for this season. It’s good it’s a little bit oversized in order to let all the layers you need in.
4. Let’s continue with the ends. Feet. It’s super important that they are well wrapped up. Leave stilettos or loafers for a day in which you commute inside a taxi and indoors temperature is more likely a Caribbean island. Thus, get equipped with woolen socks in black, grey and navy. You won’t need more colors if your winter uniform is reduced to this humdrum spectrum of colors. A pair of booties will be perfect. Take the chance that the thick and rubber soles (not platforms) are in fashion; they insulate you from the totally icy pavement. Like this Zara ones.
P.S. 1. You extremely shivery people, I prefer to not know about how many layers you’re wrapped in or if the woollen tights have become into your best friend. I confess that I went through that time too facing wind and rain arriving in front of my door directly from the North Pole.
P.S. 2. If you are still missing the feather filling, do not worry. Uniqlo has those ultra light down jackets which are the solution for all your shivery misfortunes. You can use them as lining under your coat.
Dont' freeze and have fun!
