A Crash on Statement Necklaces

Creo que estoy aprendiendo a llevar collares. Alguna vez os he hablado de que los complementos de joyería y yo no nos llevamos muy bien. Pero me he dado cuenta de que poco a poco estoy introduciendo collares de tamaño importante en mis outfits diarios y creo que es el comienzo de una buena amistad.

I guess I'm learning how to wear necklaces. I told you on some occasion that jewellery accessories and I are not good friends. However, I've realized that I'm introducing statement necklaces in my daily outfits little by little and I believe that it's the begining of a good friendship.

 La temporada pasada me estrené con una cadena dorada de eslabones enormes... y que pesa un rato.

Last season I started with a golden huge-linked chain... which is a little bit heavy.

Hace varias semanas rescaté del cajón uno con cierto toque étnico que había regateado por tres euros en el mercado de textiles de Shanghai, con su brazalete a juego. Estos eran el complemento a mi vestido azul-oscuro-casi-negro para ir a la boda de unos amigos el verano pasado y ahora me lo pongo con camisa vaquera y sudadera.

Some weeks ago I recovered one with a certain ethnic touch from my drawer; and which I bargained for three euros at the Fabric Market in Shanghai, with a pairing bracelet. These were the accessories for my dark-blue-almost-black gown to assist to a friends' couple wedding last summer and which I wear now with denim shirt and sweatshirt. 

Y hace unos cuantos días calló en mis manos este collar de Zara que recuerda mucho a uno de Chanel y que en París combinan de esta manera. Aquel con forma de clavo no pudo ser porque acerté con mi pronóstico que alguna china fashionista me llevaría la última unidad.

And some days ago it came to my hands this Zara necklace which reminds us a lot one by Chanel and in Paris they combine in this way. That one with nail shape couldn't be mine because I was right prognosticating that some fashionist Chinese girl would get the last unit.

Chanel SS 2014 campaign

Con este par de perlas en un inicio la mente se nos va al que Karl Lagerfeld presentó en la colección de Chanel primavera-verano 2014, con forma de auricular y unas perlas gigantes. Pero ¿qué queréis que os diga? Vale, se da un aire, pero también tiene cierto aire de joya celta, ¿no? Para el estreno lo he combinado con esta camisa de la nueva colección de Pull & Bear (creo que no me cansaré de ponerla hasta que se rompa porque es muy cómoda y va con todo), mis vaqueros favoritos, zapatillas todo-terreno y el abrigo de corte masculino porque todavía hace fresquito.

At the beginning about this pair of pearls our mind drives directly to the one that Karl Lagerfeld presented at Chanel Spring-Summer 2014 collection, in earphone shape and giant pearls. Nevertheless, what do you want me to tell? D'accord, there's some resemblance, but it has some bearing of Celtic gem, hasn't it? Wearing it for the first time I've paired it with this shirt from Pull & Bear new collection (I believe that I'll never get tired of wearing this shirt until it rips because it's very comfortable and it fits with everything), my favorite jeans, multi-use sneakers and mannish coat because it's still a little bit chilly.
