Pre-Fall 2015

This in-between seasons collections are becoming more and more interesting.

Prada

The Row

No. 21

These pre-fall collections are released in the middle of each summer. That's why many of them are neutral and include that kind of pieces we love that much who adore to stay in-between seasons for the whole year. For 2015 there is still a lot of normcore and minimalism with a touch; something I appreciate to keep feeding the basics row in the closet.

Elizabeth & James

Italian labels like Gucci are getting rid of the sexy-boom-Berlusconi legacy and it's preferred the elegance, the retro mood or the rebellion against the established aesthetics as Prada.

Marni

Chloé or Carven keep making use of that side, more chic and more French.

Carven

Younger brands like Rachel Comey and Rebecca Minkoff post with denim and kaki green respectively.

Rebecca Minkoff

No. 21 gets us crazy with those parkings, extreme sometimes, and the new uggly shoes, this time a pair of sandals, which are already part of my list of favorites.

With Stella McCartney we keep having fun and we give an applause 'cause she stays making the most out of this oxford shoes with platform.

Lanvin leave at one side the elegance from the greater collections and goes for the comfiness with some sporty touch.

The game with sprints is for Valentino and Rochas.

There are people who clamour due to such a craziness of collections under a vertiginous pace during the whole year. But let's take the perpective from the visual and fashion richeness. Our eye (and pocket of many) may sin as a consumiste and it may we end up desiring a boiled wool skirt in the middle of July. This is just a very personal election. At least we have something to talk about every three months. By the way, Haute Coutoure shows have already started and I'm still at this point...

Styling basics...

...from my sister's closet.

She packed the winter basics in her luggage, among class notes, architect's scale and empty tupperwares. There was no room for much more. I packed basics as well thinking about the way back and space for purchases and Christmas gifts. Weather worked in our favor and one afternoon during the holidays we headed out to the beach, after pairing the basics of each other very quickly at home.

Usually I only give styling tips to my little sister when she asks me for it and she makes me her long-distance personal shopper every season. But on this occasion it was funnier (though the lack of garments). I really had a great time and Andrea volunteered delighted. I have to thank her that she dedicated a little bit of her valuable time to cooperate with this blog, among hours of studying and projects of weird buildings.

You'll believe you immediately need it...

...when you spot the new Balenciaga Mini Bag.

It has the perfect size. Choose navy blue in case you prefer to leave black for the hardest winter. (OK, fine, the iciest season has just kicked off, but it's time to think about springily attires, though we cannot wear them until March the soonest). It's also available in pink. I'm not about colorful things at all and belong to the anti-pink league. This is Balenciaga Neo Classic Mini Chain Bag. Once you see it, you'll make the need up to own it.

Some tips for New Year's Day

¡FELIZ 2015! Nos vemos pronto.

New Year’s Day does not exist in Europe’s calendar. It’s holiday and all stores are closed. Same thing as any Sunday. But there is something different because the wee hours have been so busy that no restaurants, no cafes, no bars are opened neither cinemas (if there is still some alive) that delayed their shows until some lost soul gets to jump out from bed or sofa and enter in the first theater she finds. What plan comes up from your mind? It’s not easy, isn’t it? Beyond the ski jumps on TV while mum lays the table with last night’s recovering stew… it occurs to me that…

For the lucky ones who are on the beach, on the deck chair alternating baths and cocktails, you’ve hit the nail on the head. It’s definitely the best place to spend January 1st.

For the ones you’ve got a ticket for New Year’s Day concert in Vienna… I hate you! First beach, but this is a perfect plan too.

For you brave that have decided to test your joints on a board or skis… congratulations! and come back safe. I’m still going for the beach.

For you that are in China… don’t got to Ikea to buy a sofa. You won’t even be able to fit it because all the pensioners will be enjoying the greatest nap. Stay at home watching movies and you’ll enjoy China other day.

For you who are suffering of a great hangover… ibuprofen, stew soup, sofa and blanket… and hope nobody bothers you. For you New Year’s Day does not exist in a calendar. When you realize, it’s already January 2nd and mèrde you must go back to work. I’m sorry for you, but this time I’m on vacation. Ta-daah!

For you who have half hangover… you can still dedicate to yourself some minutes to a homemade deep facial cleaning session and wipe out the rest of mascara from last night.

For you who have danced as the end of wall was immediate…let your feet dive and soak and treat yourself with a foot massage. All spa should be open by law January 1st all day long. Heels leave our feet unconscious. I’m sorry I’m not able to share this pleasure with you because I hate anyone touches my feet. Obsessions.

For you parents… be patient because it’s the worst day in the whole year to spend with kids stuck at home. If weather behaves, a ride on the bicycle. If it’s a shitty day, deploy all your toys and games and creativity arsenal. Good luck!

I know. It’s very difficult to find a good plan for January 1st. The Beach, Vienna or the snow holiday are our dreams. If this year you’ve happened to fail into achieve any of them, enjoy a day with family or friends. If you’re alone… the telly, some reading… Let’s do things simple but, for God’s sake! don’t get depressed switching channels and watching the trillionth repeat of the New Year’s Eve gala on TV.

HAPPY 2015! See you soon.
